Dr. Alexandr Schwartzman received his M.D. degree at Centro Estudios Technicales, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. For the next 5 years he went through his residencies and interniships at the Brooklyn and Caledonian Hospitals. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery.

According to his past history, Dr. Schwartzman is an expert in his field. He is the Director of Surgical Education at the Health Science Center at Brooklyn and at the Long Island College Hospital. In addition to that he is the Chief of the Division of General Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Schwartzman has been named the Teacher of the Year from 1997 to 2002.

At our office Dr. Schwartzman offers the following procedures: wound debridement, breast surgery, all laporoscopic surgeries, herniography, laporoscopic hiatal hernia surgery, laparoscopic cholecyscetcomy and general surgery.
